Pedagogical Knowledge


Included in the Pedagogical Knowledge tab are two lesson plans. The Information Literacy lesson focuses on my ability to integrate the information literacy curriculum with content curriculum as well as incorporate technology and assist students with using it. The Media Literacy lesson plan also shows how I can relate skills learned in the library with core content and ways I can collaborate with teachers. Although not discussed within the Media Literacy lesson plan format, classroom teachers often teach writing persuasive essays in elementary school. This lesson would compliment that goal perfectly and the school librarian and classroom teacher could co-plan, co-teach, and co-assess an interesting and authentic unit that motivated students with real world issues and creative avenues to explore solutions.
