Professionalism


Included in the Professionalism tab is my OELMA wiki excerpt which shows how important other educational professionals and professional organizations are to the growth of school librarians and school library programs. Within my final reflection journal it is clear that I value lifelong learning and will strive to foster a team building community within my building. I respect other librarians and teachers and want to collaborate to improve student achievement and make learning more transferable to everyday life. This respect will also be shown to my students in my choice of resources in order to develop a quality collection that meets all students needs and interests and in my support of intellectual freedom. It is essential that I be a leader in my educational community and work to develop a library media program that supports the school's goals and objectives. It is also important to track my progress with those goals and objectives by collecting data and evidence of improved student achievement rather than facility operations.
